Smooth ride!

Stealth is right. This bike does not look like an electric bike at all but it definitively provides a nice boost on the hills of San Diego. Great experience so far.

Verdict is still out

The bike arrived timely and well packed. But just a day before we left on a trip, so wasn’t able to unpack until yesterday. Assembly was easy and straightforward. Only been on the bike once for a short test ride, but so far seems nice, but a little bit of a stiff ride. Plan to use it for commuting, so I’ll be putting it to the test soon enough. Nice components and build so I’m excited to see how everything holds up in the long term.

Commuting on airless tires with a Great Bike

I really love this bike. There are a few things you should know though. First the BM2 is good for short rides only. It is best for short pleasure rides or commuting. With the small battery, fixy geometry & without drop handle bars for hand & wrist comfort you can only go about 35 miles comfortably. I use it for commuting preferring my carbon road bike for long rides. Because of the weight of the bike you may experience a lot of flats. This depends on the terrain you bike and whether you can avoid thorns, glass & debris. It depends on how vigilant you are maintaining tire pressure to avoid pinch flats and the type of tires you run. If you want to commute on the bike (which may be the only real use for the BM2) and you can't afford flats look into airless tires. It's not cheap especially if you have your bike shop install them. I had Tannus 25's 95 "psi" put on and they work great. You should have the bike shop measure the inside of your wheel rims with calipers before you order. They seem to vary. Mine were 16 mm. My bike shop mech advised not to order the 28's because they are much harder to install. The 25's run great. My BM2 seems even faster with them.
