Not sure which Babymaker you have? You are not alone. There have been five Babymaker models since 2020: three sold under our former name, FLX Bike, and two current Superhuman Bikes models. At a glance they look almost identical. This guide shows you how to tell what Babymaker you have in under a minute.
Quick answer: which Babymaker do I have?
Check three things: the drivetrain, the handlebar and the cranks.
- Chain drive + drop or bullhorn bars = the original Babymaker (FLX, 2020).
- Chain drive + flat bar = the Babymaker II Classic (Superhuman, 2025).
- Belt drive + drop or bullhorn bars = the original Babymaker Pro (FLX, 2020).
- Belt drive + flat bar + square cranks and a torque sensor = the Babymaker II Pro (Superhuman, 2025).
- Belt drive + flat bar, without those = the Babymaker II (FLX, 2022).
Which Babymaker do I have? If this, then that
Start with the drivetrain, then the handlebar. Only the flat-bar belt bikes need a third check, because the FLX Babymaker II and the Superhuman Babymaker II Pro share a belt, disc brakes and a flat bar.
The difference between Babymakers at a glance
Every Babymaker is a single-speed, pedal-assist e-bike with a rear hub motor and a battery hidden in the frame. The differences are in the drivetrain, sensor, brakes, battery and handlebar.

How to tell what Babymaker you have: 5 quick checks
Work down the list. Most riders have their answer after the first two.
- Look at the drivetrain. Follow the loop from the pedals to the rear wheel. A black, toothed rubber belt means a Babymaker Pro, Babymaker II or Babymaker II Pro. A metal chain means the original Babymaker or the Babymaker II Classic.
- Look at the handlebar. Drop or bullhorn bars mean a 2020 FLX model. A straight, flat bar means a Babymaker II.
- Look at the cranks and the logo. Square cranks and Superhuman branding mean a current Superhuman model. FLX branding means one of the three earlier models.
- Check the battery label. 7Ah means a 2020 FLX Babymaker or Babymaker Pro. 10Ah means a Babymaker II of any kind.
- Notice how the assist feels. The Babymaker II Pro uses a torque sensor, so power builds with how hard you pedal. Every other Babymaker uses a cadence sensor, so assist switches on once the pedals are turning.

FLX Babymaker vs Superhuman Babymaker
FLX Bike rebranded to Superhuman Bikes. The original Babymaker launched on Indiegogo in 2020, and the Babymaker II followed in February 2022, both under the FLX name. The Babymaker II Pro and Babymaker II Classic are our current Superhuman models, both from 2025. All five are supported by the same team.
Babymaker vs Babymaker II: what changed?
The 2022 Babymaker II swapped the drop or bullhorn bars for a flat bar and moved from a 7Ah to a 10Ah battery. The Superhuman Babymaker II Pro kept that layout and added square cranks and a torque sensor. Read the original Babymaker II launch post.
Babymaker II Pro vs Babymaker II Classic
These are the two Babymakers we sell today. Both have a flat bar, square cranks and a 10Ah battery. The Pro adds a Gates Carbon belt drive, hydraulic disc brakes and a torque sensor. The Classic keeps it simple with a chain drive, rim brakes and a cadence sensor, at a lower price.
