Electric Hydrofoil BoatElectric bikes are a no-brainer, electric cars are everywhere - but boats? We just haven’t seen much of them. The problem is it takes an incredible amount of energy to move a large body against water resistance. Candela is tackling that challenge by putting their boat on foils - so it floats above the water on wings with much less resistance. The result is more speed, range and a smoother ride. The whole thing is powered by a 69kwh battery from polestar cars.
At $700k and ~50 mile range, is it commercially viable? Not yet I’d say. But it’s a step in the right direction and I think we’ll see more and more electric boat attempts in the coming years.
I’d love to see double the battery capacity (69kwh is small by electric car standards) and the price come way way way down.

George Washington & Ben Franklin Declare E-Bike INDEPENDENCE!It’s been a wild ride with tariffs the past 4 years. Long story short the exemption that excluded e-bikes from a 25% import duty into the US has expired and not been renewed.
I just wrote a $23,000 check to Uncle Sam for the arrival of a small ebike shipment… and it will only go up from here as our larger more premium bikes arrive.
Ebike tariffs are here to stay, BUT we’ve price locked our bikes for you until Sunday at midnight. If you’ve been on the fence, now is the time to grab yours at our lowest Summer Sale prices. Monday morning we’ll be making some adjustments…
