At Superhuman Bikes, we love hearing from our customers about how our bikes transform their riding experiences. Today, we're thrilled to share Wendy story—a testament to how the right ebike can make a difference.

Wendy faced significant challenges due to debilitating arthritis in her knees, hips, back, and ankles, making traditional biking extremely difficult. Frustrated by painful rides and joint flare-ups, she decided it was time for a change.

Determined to find a solution, Wendy researched ebikes, specifically looking for a mountain bike that would suit her love of trails and off-road adventures. She preferred a mid-motor style for ease of maintenance and better balance. Her search led her to the F5 Trail, now part of the Superhuman Bikes lineup.

Impressed by the F5 Trail’s specs—including the Shimano Deore drivetrain, Magura hydraulic brakes, 130mm Suntour fork, and powerful Bafang M600 motor with an 840 WH Samsung battery—Wendy felt it offered great value compared to pricier alternatives. Although initially skeptical, the generous return policy gave her confidence to purchase.

When the F5 Trail arrived, Wendy was thrilled with its performance. After charging the battery, she took her first ride and was pleasantly surprised by the immediate response of the pedal-assist. She enjoyed nearly 8 miles of smooth riding and successfully climbed a steep hill without dismounting—a feat she hadn't managed before. With 11 miles on the odometer and about 88% battery life remaining, the bike exceeded her expectations and made the return policy unnecessary.

Wendy’s Observations:

  • Derailleur Adjustment: As expected with new bikes, the derailleur needed some fine-tuning.
  • Weight Considerations: At over 60 lbs with the battery and extras, the bike is quite heavy. Removing the battery makes it easier to handle but still on the heavier side.
  • Brake Adjustment: The rear brake required some adjustments after the first ride, but the hydraulic brakes are notably responsive.
  • Future Upgrades: Wendy plans to switch out the cassette and consider a tubeless tire setup for a quieter ride.
  • Trail Regulations: The F5 Trail’s class 3 speed (28 mph) might affect trail access in some areas.

Overall, Wendy is thrilled with the F5 Trail's performance, praising its durability and exceptional specs for the price. The bike's responsive motor and impressive range have made her rides more enjoyable and less challenging. Even her local bike shop mechanic was impressed!
