Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses
As a gadget lover and long time content creator I’m kicking myself for not buying a pair earlier.
They’re ray-ban sunglasses with speakers, camera and some limited smart functions built in.
The AI is basically useless - for me anyways. You can ask for the weather, tell it to send texts, but that’s about the only use I’ve found so far.
The speakers are great - especially for riding, they sit above your ear so you can still hear your surroundings while blasting some tunes.
The camera is my favorite feature. There’s nothing like having a hands free POV camera at the ready at any given moment. Click the button mid ride and grab some videos. Expand your creative abilities. It outputs in a 3x4 vertical format which is a little weird with maximum 3 minute videos - and the quality is pretty good.
My biggest gripe is the recording light on the glasses. A big blinking light takes this and turns them into the world’s worst spy glasses.
There’s no good way to get around it and they won’t let you record if you cover it up. There’s 1000 scenarios where you’d want to be incognito recording things (like when I got pulled over by a dirty cop in Tijuana…)
I’ll be working on a solution for that… but in the meantime - if you want to make it easier to capture candid moments in your life - check these out here
Salsa Dancing
The other day I celebrated a friend’s birthday with a Salsa lesson. Now I’ve never been one for dancing but after 10-15 minutes I was hooked. It’s a pretty easy basic step and you just accumulate new moves each time you go.
There are some clubs here that host a lesson and then free dancing to live music. We ended up dancing the night away. The next day I could feel the workout in my legs and hips. It’s a way to go out, have a great time and get some super healthy movement in at the same time.
It’s a great way to connect with your partner, or if you’re single like me, meet your next one.
So if you’re up for a great time, search for a salsa lesson in your area.
Winnebago Heli-Home
Did you know winnebago made flying helicopter motorhomes!?
Don’t think they sold too many, but what a fascinating idea. I’ve always dreamed of flying somewhere and camping out for a few days. Being able to drop in with no runway and have a full camper at your disposal would be an absolute game changer.

UNITY
A few months ago in China I was amazed by what I saw.
The technology, the advancements, the hardworking people.
BUT what amazed me the most was this:
Everywhere I went, everyone I talked to -
they were just completely gung ho about the success of the nation.
They always said things like “It’s good for the country.”
No matter where I was, it felt the people were completely united.
Like everyone was working toward a common goal.
To advance the interests of the nation and the people.
Don’t go calling me Komerad Rob now….
But when I returned, I felt sick to see what’s going on in my own country
A nation, divided.
The media set on tearing our nation in half
Productive conversation replaced by yelling, screaming and name calling.
Last week, a presidential candidate barely escaped having his head blown off..
Not a good look for our country.
What happened to pride in our nation
Compassion for our brothers and sisters?
Discourse.
If we’re busy fighting each other tooth and nail all day
In a social media civil war
And other countries are all working together
How does that play out in 5, 10, 20 years?
The point is this:
We are people with a common interest:
Liberty, safety, prosperity - HAPPINESS
If we want to ensure that - we need to come together
We need to unite and celebrate the many things we have in common
Not the few nuanced details we have different opinions about
My challenge to you is this:
The next time you meet someone with different beliefs:
Just talk, as humans, as brothers or sisters on this planet.
Ask what do we have in common?
How can we work together?
What can I learn from this person?
I’m writing you this because I love you
We have different stories
Different beliefs no doubt
But I’m in your corner rooting for you
For your happiness, your success, your health
Your family
I hope you get the absolute best of life
I hope you’re rooting for me too
And that you, me and all our brothers and sisters
Can work together,
Stand proud and productive
For the human race.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk
Have an amazing weekend,
