When FLX started as a wild idea in 2014, we felt strongly that electric bikes had the power to transform how everyday people interacted with their day-to-day transportation.
Our friends thought we were crazy!
But we were passionate about this. We had faith. And now, we're seeing more and more electric bikes on the road every. single. day. In fact, even Washington has even taken notice of this movement .
Here are some of the key points to know about the eBike bill that's currently working its way through Congress:
What will the Build Back Better bill mean for eBikes?
The current version of the bill that was just passed by the House will offer Americans a fully refundable, 30% tax credit (up to $900) on eBike purchases under $4,000.
Those who make $75,000 or less will qualify for the maximum credit. Joint filers making $150,000 can qualify for 2 bikes and up to a $900 tax credit on each.
BUT, this eBike credit may not make it to the final version of the bill. Some opponents are currently criticizing its price tag, which is why we are encouraging all of you to voice your support.
If passed, this bill would have a huge positive impact for electric bikes.
